The preliminary round for the 2015 Seattle International Piano Competition has closed. At this time, the listening committee has made its decision, and we look forward to distributing the results to the many talented participants.
As each new edition of the competition turns, the level of musicianship and pianism reaches a new strata. This year’s competition was not only no different by this measure, but by an unprecedented degree.
Although the organizers have the results in hand, distribution of these is not immediate. There is still much work to be done before they are officially released. We are still keeping as close to “shortly after August 1” as possible. Rest assured that each participant will receive an official results letter via email regardless of whether or not he or she proceeds to the final round in October. We anticipate distribution to take place throughout the remainder of this week.
