The Seattle International Piano Festival (SIPF) proudly announces the inaugural Chopin and Beyond Festival, a new annual international online competition celebrating the legacy of Polish music—from the Romantic masters to contemporary voices.
Open to musicians of all nationalities and ages, this fully online festival invites pianists, violinists, and other instrumentalists to explore the depth, brilliance, and diversity of Polish repertoire in a thoughtfully curated, educational competition environment.

A Global Festival — Fully Online
All performances are submitted via video recording, allowing musicians worldwide to participate without travel. Each entrant receives written evaluations from distinguished international jurors, along with eligibility for certificates, medals, and special awards.
Many Paths for Participation
Participants may enter from a wide range of performance categories, including:
- Solo piano works by Frédéric Chopin (Etudes, Preludes, Dances, Lyrical and Large-Scale Works)
- Chopin and Wieniawski Concerti (with accompaniment)
- Polish Romantic composers beyond Chopin and Wieniawski
- Twentieth-century and contemporary Polish composers
- Predecessors and influences of Chopin
- Arrangements and transcriptions of Polish works
Clearly defined age divisions and repertoire categories ensure fair and meaningful evaluation at every stage of artistic development.
Grand Prix Competition
The festival also features a prestigious Grand Prix division for competitive pianists ages 12–18.
Selected prizewinners receive:
- $200 Outstanding Promising Talent Award
- Official diploma
- Exclusive masterclass participation with a guest artist of Polish heritage
